Compass Quest Veterans Advocacy Group

www.compassquest.org

“Veterans Helping Veterans Find the Way Forward"

Compass Quest Veteran Services is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that assists veterans, serving military and their families in Southwest Missouri and the surrounding “4-States” region. Our mission is to remove barriers that hinder the pursuit of wellness. Compass Quest engages in supportive programs that include veteran peer mentoring, team building activities and VA systems advocacy. Compass Quest provides navigational assistance to veterans in the community to obtain local, regional, and national services. Sustaining services include faith-based mentoring and working with local organizations to partner eligible disabled veterans with trained service dogs. Compass Quest hosts quarterly social “VetTogethers” that allow veterans to meet with other area veterans to connect and build their own support network. We also coordinate community campaigns to enhance the public’s awareness of veteran related issues. These events foster camaraderie and help veterans reconnect with the spirit of fellowship which resides in the fiber of those who have served. Our task is to provide alternative opportunities to our veteran brothers and sisters so they can effectively transition and integrate with family and the community. These activities along with other Compass Quest-sponsored events support the purpose for which our endeavor was conceived, the prevention of veteran suicides. This is accomplished through peer interaction where we can help others find and pursue a new sense of purpose. Our goal is to instill a sense of worth and belonging for our fellow warriors.
