We work with businesses and community agencies to coordinate resources that will strengthen families and prevent unhealthy and unsafe behaviors. Our initiatives include: Safe Kids, SafeTeens, Project CARE (Child Abuse Prevention), Educare, DYS Mentoring & Full Potential. We also support numerous community coalitions.

Temporary home and nurturing care for local children ages 0-17 whose families are experiencing a crisis such as overwhelming parental stress, homelessness, hospitalization, fear of abusing or neglecting children, lack of food or utilities, parent seeking substance abuse or mental health treatment. Through the services we provide, we work to protect children, prevent child abuse and neglect, reduce family stress, and ultimately keep families together. Professional staff available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week at no cost to families.

Compass Quest Veterans Advocacy Group

“Veterans Helping Veterans Find the Way Forward" Compass Quest Veterans Advocacy Group is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation that assists veterans, serving military and their families in Southwest Missouri and the surrounding “4-States” region. Compass Quest engages in supportive programs that include veteran peer mentoring, team building activities and VA systems advocacy. Compass Quest provides navigational assistance to veterans in the community to obtain local, regional, and national services. Sustaining services include faith-based mentoring and working with local organizations to partner eligible disabled veterans with trained service dogs.

Our mission is to remove barriers that hinder the pursuit of wellness. Our goal is to instill a sense of worth and belonging for our fellow warriors. During the last 5 years, we have formed many partnerships with other organizations and businesses, so we can effectively support this segment of the community. We have provided direct or referral support to over 2,500 individuals.
The programs and activities listed below aid in developing a renewed sense of Belonging and Usefulness as well as building a new Sense of Purpose. We provide assistance in the form of activities, mentoring and referrals.

We also have a separate yet equally important endeavor, Thin Red Line K9s which we use to provide advocate for eligible Disabled Veterans being placed with Service dogs. We want to make a lasting difference and allow those veterans chosen to go into a qualified program to prevail.

Jasper County CASA

Jasper County CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) is a chapter of the national CASA that places volunteers with foster children to guide and support them through the process of finding a permanent home.  Volunteers who work as court-appointed special advocates meet regularly with a child or sibling group in the foster care system and advocate for their rights. Volunteers are appointed by a judge and communicate with parties in the case and make recommendations to the court that are in the best interest of the child.  Volunteers are always needed!
